ExecuJet
Aviation Group and Hawker Pacific, two of the leading players in business
aviation, have joined forces to officially inaugurate Skypark Malaysia,
a new and exclusive Fixed Base Operation at Malaysia's Subang Airport. The
new facility has been created with the full endorsement and support of Subang
Skypark. It will offer full handling facilities plus a VIP lounge and fuel
provision in a brand new 8,000 sq ft facility. Furthermore, the agreement
includes exclusive rights for Hawker Pacific and ExecuJet to move to another
new building, which will be completed in two years' time.
The new Joint Venture between ExecuJet, which is expanding its activity
in Asia and Hawker Pacific, which has enjoyed a presence in the region for
some 30 years, was sealed at Europe's premier business aviation show, EBACE,
in Geneva this week. Earlier in the week, ExecuJet announced the opening
of new bases in Mumbai, India and in Moscow. Skypark Malaysia will be added
to the respective ExecuJet and Hawker Pacific chain of worldwide FBOs.
New MRO hangars will be constructed within the dedicated
business aircraft precinct, and the 5000 sq m facilities are expected
to open within 12 months. Hawker Pacific and ExecuJet will operate their
individual MRO activities in these purpose built facilities.
"I am delighted that two prominent and highly reputable players in
this fast expanding business aviation sector have combined to form this
partnership and offer a world class service at Skypark Subang choosing
Malaysia to spearhead their respective expansion into the Asian region.
This joint collaboration by both ExecuJet and Hawker Pacific at Skypark
Subang forms a first of its kind and we are excited at being a part of
this partnership. We look forward to working closely with them in this
venture,'" said Datuk Ravindran Menon, Group Executive Director of
Skypark.
Gerrit Basson, Group Managing Director of ExecuJet commented:
"This new facility complements our newly announced activity in India
and Singapore and further underlines the commitment we are making in this
important and fast growing Asian region. We will be working closely with
Hawker Pacific on joint investment in skills and resources."
Alan Smith, CEO of Hawker Pacific added. "We are excited to partner
with ExecuJet in Malaysia, an organisation which shares our philosophy
and commitment to customer service and genuine passion for the business
aviation fraternity. Together we are well prepared to respond to the increasing
number of business travellers coming to this vibrant region."
Asian Expansion
The Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport is to receive a US$91 million injection
of funds to transform its Terminal 3 into a corporate jet hub, a redevelopment
project being undertaken by Subang Skypark, an independent company, and
which also involves the construction of dedicated MRO and aircraft parking
hangars. Work is scheduled for completion by 2010
