Hawker
Pacific begins modifications to region's first KingAir B200GT |
|||||||||
| Australasia's
leading aircraft sales,service and product support company, Hawker Pacific,
has begun an extensive program of modifications to the first Beechcraft
King Air B200GT sold in the region.
The B200GT, the latest evolution in the popular B200 range, was handed over to Malaysian based Hornbill Skyways at the end of January 2008 in Singapore. The aircraft is being modified at Hawker Pacific's Bankstown
MRO workshop for its intended use for aerial survey, medivac and charter
work in the challenging environment of Sarawak. "Over the next 8 weeks, our MRO team will modify the aircraft to increase the functionality of an already extremely capable platform," Mr Jones said. "The first stage will involve installation of LifePort medivac equipment, with a patient loading system, for aero rescue and patient transport. In the second stage, we will incorporate a Leica precision gyro stabilised aerial camera system, installed through a hole in the belly of the aircraft. "Both modifications will be professionally integrated into the existing corporate interior so that once removed, the aircraft can seamlessly be returned to its primary role of moving people in comfort and style," Mr Jones added. Hornbill Skyways Executive Chairman, Y.B.Aidan Wing said: "We selected the B200GT over its competitors because of its proven record as a multi-role aircraft and the appreciable increase in the B200GTs speed." The aircraft is expected to be fully operational
at its base in Sarawak, in its modified role, by the end of July 2008. Notes
to Editors: 2. Hornbill Skyways Sdn Bhd is the leading
local aviation corporation operating in Sarawak. 3. The King Air B200GT is the latest evolution of the popular twin-turbine Beechcraft King Air 200 series. The new, more powerful King Air B200GT is now certified by the Federal Aviation Administration. Featuring a 305-knot max cruise speed, the upgraded Beechcraft King Air B200GT enjoys a nearly 20-knot speed increase and climbs faster to its intended cruising altitudes than the King Air B200 it replaces.
